F.A.Q
Newcomers are warmly welcome!

What denomination is St. James the Apostle?

We are an Anglican parish, which means that we are part of a wider network of other Anglican churches. We are part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, the Anglican Church of Canada, and the Anglican Diocese of Huron.

What will the Sunday service be like?

Our worship is grounded in the Anglican tradition and is taken from the Book of Alternative Services (Sunday morning services) and the Book of Common Prayer (weekday services).

Most of our services include: Prayer, Hymns, Readings from the Bible, A sermon, A Statement of Faith, such as the Nicene Creed or Apostles’ Creed, Celebration of the Eucharist (Holy Communion)

What do we believe?

The Apostles’ Creed is a description of the faith we believe in, and it’s used by Anglicans as part of the promises we make at our baptism. The Apostles’ Creed is also widely used by other Christian churches.

The Apostles’ Creed says:

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in God the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic (universal) Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
